The “D” cut makes a big difference to the handling in several ways. 1. It helps to hold the boat flatter in rough water and under initial acceleration, as the bow lifts the “D” cut out bites into the water pulling the boat back down which let’s the pump get better hook-up and drive. 2. When you are cornering hard the “D” cut out keeps the boat more stable by allowing water to travel over the top of the plate through the cut-out. WORX Extended Length Ride Plates Extended length ride plates hold the boat a lot flatter to the water and with the hard chine lines on the edges of the plate makes it a lot easier to carve those really tight turns while allowing more complete rider control. The neutral position is tunable by adjusting the trim tab linkage with a simple turn of a wrench. You no longer have to choose between a ride plate designed for top speed that doesn’t turn well, or a plate that compromises speed for handling. Our plate gives you the highest top speed possible (over 2mph on a stock Ultra) with the precise handling of a Pro caliber race ski. A separate handlebar mount- ed trim lever override is available to activate the trim tab manually when desired. TBM Ultra 250X/LX ride plate is also available without the trim tab.
