Part #801-03002 R&D R2 ECU; Reprogrammed ECU to allow up to 8750 RPMs. R2 upgraded ignition timing safe for all recreational and offshore racing use using 91 octane pump gasoline. Part #801-03003 R&D R3 ECU; Reprogrammed ECU to allow up to 8850 RPMs. R3 upgraded ignition timing safe for all recreational and offshore racing use using 93-95 octane pump gasoline. The R3 ECU program will also work well with mild (R&D RC1) camshafts kits, R&D Forged Piston Upgrades and mild supercharger pulley upgrades where boost levels will be increased by no more than 2 pounds. The R3 program file does not require a Powershot Fuel Tuner. NOTE: Rev Limiter settings can be raised or lowered upon request. R&D is also developing E85 fuel programs that utilize the R&D 340LPH Fuel Pump, and R&D 725 or 1000cc Injectors. Existing customers who have purchased an R&D Powershot Fuel Control Unit can send their units in to R&D for free upgraded re-programming to allow custom fuel tuning to work with the new ECU Programs. R&D Powershot Fuel Control Units are not required on entry recreational level (R1, R2, or R3) programs. However, custom fuel tuning with the Powershot Fuel Tuner can be an add-on or additional upgrade that is suggested for higher performance applications with Booster Wheels or Camshaft Kits. Fuel tuning or AFR conditions should always be checked and verified as values will always be slightly different from one engine set up to another. ECU reflashing is recommended for competition use only.
