The 2019 race will be the 15th Anniversary of this great event, set to launch from Crazy Horse Campground in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on February 23, 2019. The 2018 was a great success and received worldwide recognition, it is expected that a new record number of entries will come out for the 15th annual event, the 2018 event had over 34 race entries from 10 countries. This is the first major race each year for all of the newest watercraft models released for the new model year. Manufacturers and race teams from around the world view this as one of the most prestigious events and set their goals each year to be the overall manufacturer champion, an honor that Yamaha took home in Pro Runabout for the first time in many years. Each year the race is held in the memory of endurance racer Mark Hahn, who was instrumental in providing the momentum to keep endurance racing going strong and growing across the country before his untimely death during a PWC race in 2004. The “Team” format features two riders for runabout (sit down) boat teams and up to three riders for a stand-up craft. The City of Huntington Beach offered us the weekend of April 14 and 15th, 2018 to put on a PWC race right next to the World Famous Huntington Beach Pier. Hot Products immediately signed on to be the title sponsor and began work- ing on get- ting the industries support for this race. In a 6 week period from the time the event was approved we produced a Surf Moto race with over 100 entries. Along with the racing we had a Freeride Exhibition with the support of Taylor Curtis of TC Freeride, Rickter-RRP and Krash Industries. The freerid- ers hit the surf and put on a show for the spec- tators and they got to see some exciting aerial maneuvers and surf riding. The event was more than anyone of us could have hoped for, the City of Huntington Beach reported the event had a 25,000 spectator attendance over the two day event, this is the largest spectator turnout for any PWC event is a very long time.
